THE CHARLES DOUGLAS AWARD
YOU DONT HAVE TO BE ACCOMPLISHED
To try and accomplish something
I might be new to owning a business and I'm nowhere near the area's most lucrative companies, but that's not going to stop me from doing everything I can to leverage KESA as a means to make an impact with the youth of this city, who far too often, go overlooked.
The Charles Douglas Award, named after my father, is my pledge to the BIPOC youth of Rochester, NY. Each year, KESA will gift a bespoke interview suit, custom tailored, from the world-renown Adrian Jules, to eligible recipients. In addition to the new suit, professional development networking and skills such as interview coaching, resume building, and a complete LinkedIn overhaul (including headshot photography) will also be awarded. It’s my goal to help as many young BIPOC build their dream career as I can - and that starts with a strong foundation.
THIS YEAR’S RECIPIENT
Robert “Tre” Mixon III
A brilliant young man and local track star, Tre is currently studying Business at Robert's Wesleyan.

LIVING BY EXAMPLE
I wasn't able to afford an interview suit until I was in my late 20s, and the experience of buying it was less than positive. I was incredibly insecure that what I had wasn't good enough or fit right.
I’m going to help as many people as possible walk into an interview without feeling like they don’t belong there.
The Charles Douglas Award, is my pledge to be a resource to any young person looking professional development, not just the recipients.
